Leatherback Turtle Sighting!!!!!!!! While snorkeling off of Grand Bahama just outside of the Port Lucaya Waterway in April we encountered a Leatherback Turtle. Leatherback Turtles are very rare as they are on the endangered species lists. You’re never sure what you will encounter while out to sea. Our dive masters are always on the lookout to see what is swimming by, hiding under a rock or like this guy, half buried in the sand. |

Lion Fish in the Bahamas Lion Fish Populating the Bahamas along with the Eastern Seaboard from Florida to Maine! We first started seeing Lion Fish around Nassau and Grand Bahama last summer. They have now spread throughout the entire Bahama Islands. As they have no natural predators it is unsure what the ecological outcome will be on the underwater ecosystems. The picture below is of poor quality but you must see one of these beautiful fish. We offer plenty of photo opportunities to do so. |

PASSENGER COMMENTS WELL WE DID IT AGAIN, HAD ANOTHER FANTASTIC TIME ON THE AVALON :) What a great time once again. Thank you for the memories and spectacular trip. The crew was absolutely wonderful. Karen is a top-notch captain and a terrific woman with more boating knowledge than most men dream of. Chris, Matt and Leah worked perfectly together. Little did we know it was the crew’s first trip as a team. They did a great job! It was a blast! Finding a crew that gets along so well together is a dream come true. You truly have a "Dream Team" there. Leah was a hoot. Good meals and a crazy sense of humor. In closing, I love what you guys have done to bring personal attention and great diving on a fun boat. Please feel free to call on us any time for anything. We will do everything possible to share these experiences with others. Friends in boating, Dennis and Joyce |

Bonne Terre Mine Treasure Hunt On June 7th Bonne Terre Mine hosted a treasure hunt in Bonne Terre Missouri. Lost Island Voyages donated a certificate towards a charter aboard the Avalon. The 130 divers then used their chips collected in the hunt to bid on many different prizes. The lucky winner was Craig Grade from St. Peters Missouri. |
